All Hallows Eve!

Halloween has come and gone. We had a blast! We were lucky enough to finally get a day where all 4 of us could spend the day together. With the recent fires and Anthony working Mega Overtime at the Fire Station, we haven't had much family lately, but thankfully he had Halloween off and we made the very best of our time together. We started the day off with Aidan's Costume Parade. His costume of choice was a RED Crayola Crayon. While Aidan participated in all the Festivities, Logan trotted around the school grounds proudly wearing his Yoda costume. After all the hard work we put into Aidan's Crayola costume, we were expended of all our creativity and had to surrender to a store bought costume. Yoda was a nice choice since Logan was battling a cold and the cloak and headpiece were made of a nice fleece material. "Below here is he". As Yoda would say.

Aidan began his parade soon after we arrived. Here he is prominently displaying our work of art.

He had some pretty good competition, but thanks to our hard work and the creative geniuses that Anthony and I are, my baby won the prize for the "Cutest Costume". It's probably the last year he'll allow me to make his costume cute so I'll be able to bask in the glory of his little trophy from Kindergarten, for years to come. Here he is proudly accepting his award.

Later in the day Aidan's Harvest Carnival commenced. I failed to get any shots other than on my cell phone. Anthony worked the fishing booth while Aidan and I spent his hard earned money on the many booths. We made a killing with prizes. We were all ready to call it a day at around 2:30 but we had to continue on with the festivities of the day. Halloween isn't Halloween without trickortreating after all.

Family picture Op. just before we headed out.

Ninja Turtle Jason and Aidan the Red Crayola just before we ventured out.
Right above are Aidan and Jason at an awesome Haunted House in Alhambra. This guy went all out with his Halloween decor.
Brian being a well behaved Tigger while our little Yoda screamed bloody murder. The culprit? "Unfamiliar surroundings".

Family picture op. sans the costume headpieces. I'll admit, they stayed on longer than I thought they would. To end the night, we went to have ourselves a nice Mexican dinner. Aidan was so tired he fell asleep sitting down at the table. We all slept like logs that night. All in all, it was the best Halloween to date. But we'll certainly try to beat that next year.

Fun in the Fall

Summer's gone now, although the warm weather insists on lingering. Fall is in the air. Pumpkin patches and Halloween decor galore. We've already carved our Jack O lantern! Here's a picture of the finished product and the artists themselves.

Anthony and I headed to Ventura County to have a nice day at the beach then onto a get together with his fellow Firefighter David and his beautiful wife Jeannine as well as the Chief himself. We had a great time and met some really wonderful people!

We're steady working on the kid's costumes and I'm looking forward to posting pics of the boys in their seasonal attire.

Making a splash!

We recently took a family trip to Bolsa Chica Beach. We packed the kids and quite a few bags, and met up with the Fam.  Aidan thoroughly enjoyed getting dirty in the sand.
Despite the hazy weather, we had a blast. We caught some rays and Anthony got a chance to hit the waves.  It was Logan's very first trip to the sandy wonderland and he was definitely in awe of his new surroundings.  It was a much needed day of rest & relaxation. A welcome break from our house hunting woes. At this point in our search, we have already made upwards of 12 offers and have yet to hear any good news. It's become very distressing, but we are trying to stay positive about it. Our house is out there, we just have to find it.
I was finally able to capture some of Logan's frankenstein-ish steps. Hey, my kid has appropriately chosen to show off his "monster walk" just in the nik'o time for Halloween. Here's a snipit of him taking a not so delicate stroll.

Thanks for Watching!

Blogging it up!

Hi everybody! I've decided to make an attempt at joining the blogging world. I'm hoping to kill two birds with one stone with this blog. Primarily to keep everyone updated with what's going on with our family, but also because I love to just write and get my thoughts out. Thanks to everyone who reads this blog by the way.
Here's a quick update on what's going on with us right now. Aidan started Kindergarten at Sacred Heart Elementary school this month, he started out his first few days with tears, anxieties, and fears, but just as everyone predicted (and I prayed for), he has now adjusted to his new surroundings. He even has his name down to a T. Here's to many more years of new friends, learning new things, and the best part of all, tuition tuition and more tuition. Here he is on his way to his first day of Kindergarten.
Here he is, looking a little nervous.
Despite a rocky start, I'm sure he's going to do great in school.
Logan has finally began to take his first steps. He has been quite apprehensive to take them and chooses to do so only when we have absolutely no camera or camcorder in sight. I think the only way I'll be able to capture the big moment is if I hire a reality tv camera crew to follow him around everywhere, but due to financial umm constraints, I think you'll just have to take my word for it. As a consolation prize, here's a picture of him being his goofy, loveable self.
Anthony and I are busy looking for our first home together. We have been looking on an almost daily basis and have already lost 3 houses to all cash offers. We are a little heart broken because the last house we lost was utterly beautiful but alas, we are continuing our search and weathering the storm. We are really hoping we can move into a new home before the holidays. Til next time everybody! Wish us happy hunting!
